Biography
Claudio Trovajoli won the First Absolute Prize at the National Competition “S.Fuga” in Turin and at the International Competition “G.B. Viotti” in Vercelli, the First Absolute Prize and the Prize for the best performance of Haydn at the International Competition for Piano Trio “F. J. Haydn” of Vienna and the First Prize at the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Competition (Ohio, USA), the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Easton International Chamber Music Competition (Maryland, USA) and was awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Scholarship in London.
He has performed all over the world together with internationally renowned musicians. Some of the seasons that saw him as a protagonist: Teatro Comunale in Modena, Mozart Festival in Rovereto, Villa Pignatelli in Naples, Società del Quartetto in Vercelli, Quartetto in Milan, Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Società Barattelli in L'Aquila, Amici della Musica in Padua, Amici della Musica in Palermo, Casals Festival in Prades and Radio France Festival in Montpellier, Haydn Festspiele in Heisenstadt (Austria), Teatro Coliseum in Buenos Aires, Fundaciòn Beethoven in Santiago de Chile, Concertgebow in Amsterdam and Wigmore Hall in London.
His extensive discography includes a wide repertoire for piano trios: he has recorded the world premiere of G. Martucci's Piano Trios; the complete recording of Franz Schubert's Piano Trios for the Altara in London, described in review periodicals “the best recording of the last twenty years”. With the Stradivarius of Milan he recorded the Trios of Tkhaykovsky and Schostakovitc (five stars in the monthlies Classic Voice and Amadeus).
Alongside his concert activity, he has always been passionate as a teacher. His pupils are often winners of international competitions. He usually holds master classes in International Festivals. He teaches Principal Piano at the Conservatory “A. Casella” of L'Aquila and at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music in Rome.
