Location

Founded by Saint Pope Pius X in 1911, the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music was entrusted by Saint Pope John Paul II with the entire complex of the Pontifical Abbey of St. Jerome-in-the-City, which is surrounded by a beautiful garden.

Situated in Rome, our location offers unparalleled access to historical resources, sacred places - including St. Peter's Basilica - and to gaining practical experience within the Catholic tradition.

Our students benefit from access to seven pipe organs, more than 20 pianos, a student residence, and a concert hall located in the historic centre of Rome near Piazza Navona.

The Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music fosters an international community united by faith and a shared passion for sacred music.
