Biography
Mauro Pisini (1962) teaches Humanities with a focus on music at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music (Rome) and Latin Stylistics, as well as other philological subjects, at the Pontifical Salesian University (Rome).
A scholar of Latin Stylistics and Composition, Classical Prosody and Metrics, Classical Rhetoric, the Teaching of Classical Languages, and 20th-century Latin Poetry, he has published numerous academic articles on these subjects in Italian and international journals. He is the author of the philological commentary on Giovanni Pascoli’s short poem, Post occasum Urbis, (Rome 2012). Furthermore, he has won several awards in Latin poetry and prose competitions, notably the Certamen Capitolinum, Certamen Catullianum, Certamen Latinum Vittorio Tantucci and Certamen Vaticanum. He is a member of the scientific committee for the Sapientia ineffabilis series published by IF Press, and an ordinary member of the Pontificia Academia Latinitatis and other institutions of classical culture.
