16 May 2025

public

In the solemn setting of the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare, the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music presided over by Fr. Robert Mehlhart, offered the audience a new spiritual and artistic experience: ‘Corona stellarum duodecim’, a musical meditation on the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary, conceived in the heart of the Holy Year 2025 and born from the compositional wisdom of the historic PIMS Composition School - with illustrious signatures such as Valentino Miserachs Grau, Silvano Presciuttini, Michele Manganelli, Marialuisa Balza, Italo Bianchi and Marco Cimagalli. The crystal-clear voice of Maria Grazia Schiavo, the deep timbre of Marco Severin, the lively words of Nicola Tangari and Giacomo Balduzzi, organist Marialuisa Balza, the PIMS Choir and the Orchestra Musica Contemporanea di Roma, conducted by Walter Marzilli, made the evening an authentic act of sound contemplation.
