An event of profound spiritual and musical beauty illuminated the Basilica of Sant’Apollinare on Tuesday 26 May 2026, on the occasion of the traditional Concert for the Diploma in Choral Conducting, conducted by Maestro Walter Marzilli.

The programme featured Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Missa Brevis KV 49 (47d) and Vesperae Solennes de Confessore KV 339. Don Bruno Diklić and Ercole Cortone conducted the PIMS Polyphonic Choir and Chamber Orchestra, with organist Marco Rivas and soloists Maria Grazia Schiavo, Marta Pacifici, Derlis González Morel and Kevin Malcom Cribb.

The evening once again confirmed the role of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, presided over by Fr Robert Mehlhart, as a centre of international excellence in education, research and the transmission of the Church’s musical heritage.
