Festival Concertando - Vision and Invention

The eleventh edition of the Festival Concertando – International Chamber Music Festival has come to a close. This artistic event, organised by the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, increasingly underscores the unity of the entire School around the spiritual value of music, in its broadest sense.

The presence of guest composer James MacMillan, to whom the PIMS awarded an honorary doctorate, was particularly significant, as was the large audience turnout, which faithfully attended all the concerts on the programme.

The compositions by PIMS students, the young performers, the masterpieces of choral and chamber music literature, and the guest artists created moments of rare intensity and educational value, as well as artistic merit. These days of musical sharing left an indelible impression on every participant, whether they were performers or simply listeners to that infallible instrument of elevation that is music.

See you next year for the 12th edition of the Festival, scheduled for 5–7 March 2027. We look forward to seeing you there!
