The 10th Concertando Festival - International Chamber Music Festival, held April 3-6, 2025 at the premises of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music, chaired by Fr. Robert Mehlhart OP, provided an important opportunity for musical encounters. The 2025 edition celebrated the milestone of its 10th edition, under the artistic direction of Maestro Claudio Trovajoli.

Internationally renowned musicians, ensembles and composers took part in the event flanked by masters and talented PIMS students including Olga Caiazza and Federico Del Principio. Among the guests were the prestigious: Metis Trio, Trio Fenice, Danilo Squitieri, Matteo Rocchi, Jozef Luptak, Aylen Pritchin, David Cohen, Mi-Sa Yang, Marco Palocci, Francesco Paolo Russo, Elenoir Javanmardi, Lorenzo Famà, Emanuele Piga, Vittorio Infermo, Domenica Pugliese, Senja Rummukainen, and Jacopo Petrucci.

Of particular note was the encounter with guest composer Paweł Łukaszewski, rooted in the sacred tradition but open to a universal spirituality, whose Piano Trio No. 2 was premiered in Italy by the Trio Fenice and the celebrated Laudate Dominum by the Pims Polyphonic Choir with organist Efisio Aresu, conducted by Maestro Walter Marzilli.

Among the most innovative experiences is the “listening exercise for strings and attentive audience” S P I N by student composer Domenico Vellucci. Again the PIMS composition class featured with Agápē by Edson Ramos. Next, Maestro Silvano Presciuttini's String Quartet offered refined writing between contemporary and traditional.

The journey then moved into the Renaissance with the PIMS vocal ensemble Vox Praeclara, in a fascinating journey between Palestrina, Striggio, de Monte and Monteverdi.
